Staff Bios

Studio Director Beth Humphrey began training at age 3 in a tap/ballet combination class.  She fell in love with the short ballet portion and began attending a ballet technique class at age 5.  At age 8 she enrolled with the Kravenko Dance Academy, and began studying under the Royal Academy of Dance syllubus (a program sponsered by the Queen of England under which most of Western Europe’s professional ballerina’s train.) Beth received top marks on her yearly examinations through the Royal Academy, one year receiving the highest marks given in the Nation.    At age 12, Beth began studying modern dance ,jazz and hip hop.  She joined the Las Vegas Youth Ballet on scholarship at age 13, and was named principal dancer at age 14.  Beth completed her student training through the Royal Academy of Ballet at age 16, and continued to train in the upper levels of the Royal Academy’s teaching program, completing several levels with the highest of marks on her examinations.


Upon graduating high school in 2000, Beth was accepted into Brigham Young University and participated in both the Dance Ensemble and Theatre Ballet Companies.  She performed as a dancer for the Seigfried and Roy Show from 2002-2003, and as a dancer/illusionist with the Rick Thomas Show from 2003-2004.  During that time she performed annually as a ballet and contemporary dancer in both the Las Vegas Choreographers Showcase and the Rainbow Awards.  From 2001-2004, she served as Assistant Artistic Director and performed as a guest artist for the Southern Nevada Youth Ballet. 

In 2004 Beth returned to Utah, this time to complete her Bachelor’s Degree at the University of Utah.  She taught at the Children’s Ballet Theatre in Salt Lake City from 2004-2007.  During that time she was invited to teach Master Classes at several other studios throughout the Salt Lake Valley, including the Dancer’s Company and Performing Dance Center.  She continued her own studies in ballet by attending classes at both Ballet West and the University of Utah.

In 2007, Beth was invited to serve as co-director for the up and coming ballet studio in Utah County known as Orem Dance Theatre, where she taught until 2011.
